I did the same thing on a build I've had on my bench for way too long. I was fortunate enough to be able to modify the driver to get it to work...I think. Would not be acceptable if I were building to market.
That kind of stuff can make you crazy especially if massive amount of rework is in order.
Hang in there dude. You have a nice build going there.
