I use a pair of Velodyne HGS-15s with SMS-1 bass manager that provides acoustic room correction. After trying them next to the mains, I decided on placing them in the corners on either side of the mains. My aim is to never identify the subs as a source of sound. Of course I'm aware the vibration from a low pedal note or jolt of an explosion in a film couldn't have come from the KEFs, but neither would I point at the HGS-15s.
