While I've owned the original LS 3/5A Gold Edition | HL-P3s ( Ebony finished ) back in 1993-95, and currently own a pair of P3-ESRs ( Tiger Ebony ) which our younger son gifted me several years back, as he stated he found them to be overly laid-back ( well dull was actually the term he used ) and replaced them with a pair of Scansonic MB-1s, which he said were more to his likings.
As per myself ( as someone else mentioned above ) I've listened to several models at David Michael Audio located in Royal Oak Michigan, which were claimed to be their most dynamic pairs to date......., as they do offer vocal recordings in a way I've yet to hear many speakers do, and sounded extremely nice playing a track by Patricia Barber, whom happens to be one of the slowest singers I'm aware of, beside say Shirley Horn | Diana Krall, yet as her band came in ( I'm talking about a trio setting ) everything seemingly fell apart, to my mind having grown up being a owner of various ProAc Loudspeakers ( mostly different variations of the Tablettes | Response One | Response One SCs ) I wrote them off as being to slow, and weren't up for the task when more complex recordings were played........., much like the cowardly lion in The Wizard Of Oz, they seemed to look around for help...., ran down the hallway and jumped from the closest window out of fear of being revealed for what they couldn't do, which was to my mind ( ears | senses ) merely afraid to let go, or loosen up.
To me attack of note is vital......., as I also grew up with the old mindset that the importance of Synergy | P.R.A.T. still hold true.
