They look a bit odd but....

I heard the Impact Monitors at RMAF. When I walked into the room, I thought, "well this is going to be interesting" and was not expecting much, but they were quite good!

There were three rows of chairs set up and I had a good listen from the front row (which had to be pretty close to the speakers i.e. Near field listening) and the rear row (which was about 12 ft away I will guess). From the front row the tonal balance was good, but they were not quite jelling for me - too close I thought for all those drivers to integrate well which seemed the case to me, but from the back row it was quite good (independent of how modest the system was). They disappeared well and hade a very nice palpable (good sized) soundstage, were not harsh or grainy - very easy to listen to - while not sounding uphonic and pretty even. They appear to be a pretty good value. I can see why the room was/is getting such favorable reports.

I do find the design odd, but they end results sound wise left me impressed.
