A few years back I was buying a set of Boston Acoustic CR-8's and the salesman gave me a set of those Radio Shack supertweeters that he used to use with the CR-8's. I played around with the supertweeters on some of those big Def-tech's, the one with the powered subs. I stuck the tweeter on the top, firing up. Being that these were Bi-polar speakers, the imaging was all over the place. I did not notice much of anything with the supertweeters playing. The salesman who sold me the CR-8's used those supertweeters with them, as he claimed that there was not enough "Air" with the CR-8's. He said he set them up so the supertweeter would fire upwards. I gave it a listen with and without the supertweeter. I thought, while the CR-8's were a bit dark and laid back sounding, the supertweeter just made it sound a bit grainy. Long story short, the salesman bought a set of Snells, and was happy.
