I passed up the RTi 40 back in the day in favor of the SB3, though of course that's a completely different characteristic. I tend to think the best characteristic of the SB3 is its sealed design, which you would use upgrading to the LSi9. But not everybody prefers sealed enclosures to ported the way I do.

Go listen to the LSi9. But I'd recommend checking out the NHT Classic Three, too.
