I currently own a REL Storm III subwoofer that I'm using with the Thiel 1.6's. The blend is terrific. Because REL setup enables you to use the full range of your speakers, the subwoofer augments the lower frequencies, which the 1.6's lack. I have set up the REL crossover to 53Hz, which is a little higher than the low range of the 1.6. This seems to work best for my current room.
However, in my new home, I won't have a corner to place my subwoofer in. I'm also separating my music and home theater systems, so the REL likely will go with my home theater system. I'll let people know what I find. I welcome suggestions!!!
Thiel subs are just too expensive, although they are great.

Thiel has a whole new line of subs. That would be your best match. - kenster 11:21:15 05/3/05 ( 0)
