You were right on all counts. I auditioned them today side by side and noticed the following differences:
+ vocals were better balanced in relation to music
+ bass was deeper and better defined (even without spikes fitted)
+ image projected taller, even though the Centers on stands were higher up
- the only negative point for me was the Diva seemed to fall behind in agility of it's bass, though they were pretty fresh out of the box and the Center Utopia's were well run in

My main comparison, fair or not, was with the Sonus Faber Cremona. I've seen plenty of reviews of this product and to be honest i loved the sound and look of the speaker, it's just that the electronics i wanted to use just couldn't cut it with the SF's - they seemed to need a much more powerful and muscular amplifier to drive them. I've seen many posts about how Cremona's love tubes/valves and silver cabling. I just think they didn't come alive without an amp capable of driving them to sufficient volumes. I think that Ring Radiator tweeter really needs source components and cabling to bring it alive - anything a little darker in nature makes this speaker sing in shades of brown (for want of a better description) - choose the right amp (i loved it with the Ayre K5x/V5x combo) and you have a magical combination.

I ended up using (don't laugh) the Ayre CX-7/AX-7 combination. I felt that this was a magical combination with these speakers.
