Nice review! I have a bit to add:I've been enjoying the 25s for almost six months in my system now and either my ears broke in or the speakers broke in. They sounded a bit hard in the beginning--special for sure, but a bit hard. I now have no such reservations. The tweeter especially will spoil you and make you think that other speakers are broken. In all seriousness I thought something had happened to my car's (all stock) system. I eventually realized that the first few days with the 25s had redefined my standards. I friend with watt/puppies was admited he liked the 25s better. With proper room treatments the sound is big and effortless. All of the teeth gnashing below about the Stereophile rating is silly--just go listen to them in a _good_ room and you'll know.

How do you compare the S25 to Contour 1.3SE in sound performance? Thanks! (nt) - Kyu 21:49:30 03/24/03 ( 0)
