One more question, if I may. I have changed course and decided to use inexpensive acoustical tiles on the ceiling (instead of sheetrock). In searching the archives, I see that the the height of the ceiling is determined from the floor to the subfloor. But if I put a layer of mineral fiber or mineral wool on the bottom of the joists, will that change the ceiling height for calculating room dimensions?
