Hey again Paul, nice hearing from you again.Yes, as I stated in my original post, the 928 hums regardless of input. Input plugged in or NOT plugged in, it makes no difference. Gain and crossover frequency adjustments appear to work as normal, but have no effect on the hum.
As I mentioned, I have two of these. Technically both of them hum. But, in the case of my "good" one I can only hear the hum with my head a foot away from the speaker in a totally silent room. From my listening chair it's dead quiet. However, the "bad" one hums a lot more. It is loud enough that it is apparent during quiet musical passages or between tracks. Music at low volumes or an everday conversation will drown it out, but it is still irritating.
