Being that I bought the Wiim to stream Tidal, and can utilize the "Tidal Connect" feature, I'm merely using the native Tidal app to control the streamer. To say I love that feature is an understatement. The Wiim's own interface is certainly doable, but nothing like the native Tidal app. I'm in no position to comment on how well it controls other services.

Understand I'm one of the few that hasn't found streaming to sound superior to my silver discs so comments about the internal DAC are worthless if I think the source is flawed. When I "streamed" local files via a Squeezebox a decade ago, I found my silver discs to sound superior in that scenario as well.

FWIW, I hook the WiiM up via line out to my "lesser, tube saving" system and via Toslink out to the Metrum Octave DAC in the main system. Note the digital out will not work if the line out is being employed so I have to pull that plug when I want to listen to it on the main system, which isn't that often.
