The RPi3 is overkill for Squeezelite playback. If anything, the additional RPi4 functionality puts a greater load on the power supply.
With mine running pCP, I run it lean by disabling everything not needed - video, bluetooth, LEDs and declock the processor to 800 mHz with memory at half that. Which extends battery life and likely reduces noise.
