We haven't often agreed in the past but I have to agree with you about the iPhone X facial recognition. Just looking at the screen unlocks it even in the dark. If for some reason it doesn't recognize you, it still defaults to prompting you to enter your access PIN. The facial recognition is excellent. The only time it didn't recognize me was when I was wearing a ski mask, ball cap, and sunglasses 'cuz it was freezing cold outside at a Broncos football game.

A couple other features related to iPhone X facial recognition that I really like include:

- If you have the ringer volume set to max as I do, the phone rings extremely loud but drops to a very low volume level as soon as you pickup the phone and look at it. It realizes that you reacted to the phone call so it turns the ringer volume way down. You can then decide to answer the call or not.

- I use my iPhone X as my morning wake-up alarm clock on my nightstand. Just like the ringer volume, when I pickup the phone and it 'sees' me, it turns down the alarm volume. I can then shut it off or hit snooze.

- The facial recognition also works great with 3rd party Apps that support it. Many of my mobile online banking Apps support it so all I have to do is launch the App and look at the screen. It recognizes me and logs me in.

The overall physical size of the iPhone X is smaller than the iPhone 8 Plus but the iPhone X has the larger screen real estate. The camera is also outstanding and a couple steps up from previous gen iPhone cameras not only in terms of sharpness but features like portrait mode.
