Pretty much. The Chromecast Audio has the wireless capability and a 24-192 dac with analog or digital toslink out. That could be controlled with Roon on your tablet. For hands-free though, which I would want in the garage since my hands are busy, a Home Mini would work fine. The Mini can play everything on its own but it's a small speaker and has no analog or digital out as you point out. I don't think your Echos would talk to the Chromecast, but I don't know.

Haven't run into any "software bugs" so far.
