I'm considering making the move into PC Audio.
I would like to run a Windows based laptop set up, because I'm familiar with windows and have a spare 2 year old Windows 7, 8gb ram, i-5, USB 3.0 Lenovo Thinkpad. It will have a fresh load of the operating system and it will be used for audio only.
I will be running a 3 way active speaker system, and already have multiple amplifiers to power them. I would like to be able to run Acourate for the crossovers and room correction.
Here's where it get a little lost.
I would like to find an external soundcard that outputs at least 3 digital outputs for low, mid and high frequencies. I would use a separate 2 channel DAC for each digital output. If someone makes a soundcard that has really good dacs in it for around $1000, I might consider it.
Looking for some feedback on soundcard solutions and am open to any ideas.
Is there a windows operating system that is better than others(Windows) for audio?
