I'm presently using HQ Player on an optimized mac mini (with the UpTone MMK and JS-2 PS) - thus am thinking the µRendu would be used as a NAA into a Berkeley Alpha USB.
Here's the ignorant part - if I'm not doing any PCM to DSD conversion or other processor-heavy things requiring the server/HQ Player - just playing music files directly - would the SQ possibly be improved by removing the server and using only the µRendu?
At present my music's on a singular HDD (backed up, of course) so not a NAS setup. Can I just put the HDD through a router, then to the µRendu then into the Berekeley USB and run this via squeezelite and an iPad app?
Any advice appreciated - thanks.
