i must be a bit of a dissenter here and say that i prefer the segerstam/ondine for his organic/introspective approach over the vanska who seems to be aiming more for affect. but keep in mind these pieces have been favorites of mine for going on 30 years and my views might be different as a new(ish) listener. another recent contender and maybe better overall than either is the recent cycle by colin davis on lso live although here the sound suffers a bit because of the live barbican hall acoustics. and as someone who loves these pieces let me also add that the barbirolli cycle from the 60's on emi is a treasure...
