Perhaps you all could share your thoughts/opinions on this. The reason I trotted out my Quad II amps was that I recently acquired a pair of Shindo Labs Corton Charlemagne monoblocks that use NOS Telefunken EL34 tubes and put out 25 wpc. I bought the CC's as my Shindo Lafon WE300B SET monoblocks (8 wpc and in need of really efficient speakers) will definitely not drive the 57's (plus I wanted an occasional audio flavor change). I am hesitant to pair the CC's and the 57's as I would be bummed to damage either. Hence the need to pull the Quad II's out of mothballs to ensure the 57's were operational knowing it was definitely a synergistic match. I asked the question to a Shindo dealer back east and he did not think it would be a good pairing. I sent Art Dudley an email as I had read that he had the CC and 57's in his system, but after re-reading his column, it reads like he uses his Shindo Haut Brion push pull amp to drive his 57's.

Just erring on the side of caution. Repairs to the CC or the 57's would be a costly endeavor.
