One other aspect to think about and work towards is to disrupt the Parallel nature of the walls & floor/ceiling -
I am not suggesting that you need a Major Re-model of the space - but where you can add the 703 panels to breakup the parallelism of the room, you will get an added benefit.
I have seen some pictures where people have made (from wood) angled louvers that hang as an array from the ceiling - this can work -
Even if you build boxes around your light fixtures (possibly putting the 703 beveled back to the ceiling) would create a reversed coffered effect which would break-up the flat plane of the ceiling...
