You will begin to get an idea of the differences with the comparison of the ESL to the ESL63. The 2912 is like the ESL63 with two extra bass panels and better bracing and cosmetics.

The quad 2912 and earlier brother the 2905 have an extra pair of bass panels and they add nicely to the middle bass energy without being too plump.

I doubt anyone will give you a direct comparison 2912 vs. ESL57 as the newer quads have not be around that long.

I have had rebuilt examples of both- The ESL63 USA Monitor that I had (cousin to the 2912) is a better speaker. I kept the ESL 57.
