I own both gunned MMGs and the Obelisk '2'.

My comments are similar to Magpie's - Obelisks give you that amazing holographic soundstage no matter where you sit. Tonally, the Obelisks are 'brighter', or airy-er' sounding - the MMGs sound dark/warmer in comparison. Bass performance is good on both - Obelisks go a bit deeper.

Obelisks can play a bit louder too. I had both in my living room, but subsequently moved the MMGs into a spare room due to growing family needs. I decided on making the Obelisks my main speaker as they were easy to move, not fussy on placement to get great sound and also doubled as excellent speakers for my HT (I run a 2.1 system and that holographic soundstage is fantastic and easily eclipses the MMG for watching movies).

I love both speakers - much like the same way I love both Vanilla and chocolate ice cream. Sorry, I'm not one who can describe the differences using more standard audiophile jargon and I haven't had much time for critical/long listening sessions in the past 2 years with young kids. But hopefully, this gives you a bit more of an idea of the main differences.
