Taking a very close look at my 3.6 maggies I find it hard to believe any sound is able to get through it.
When you look very close it is hard to see even very fine pin holes for the sound to pass through.
Out of all the types of speakers I have owned none have had as dense a material as the Maggies.
When reading speaker reviews, the reviewer will sometimes recomend using the speakers with the (snap on) grill removed.
I use a pair of Epos speakers in an upstairs system, without a doubt the sound is clearer with the grills off.

I can`t believe a more "open" grill cloth would not be an upgrade.
I have to frequently vacume the room and can imagine after four years the dust plugging up this cloth even more.
Any ideas about changing to a more transparent cloth, and/or cleaning it, rubbing it with a damp cloth will only plug the fine pin holes even more.
Thenks, Len W
