This is my first post here in a long time; I had an injury earlier this year and got out of the audio discusssion stream for a while. In the meantime, though, I traded in my 1.7s for a pair of 3.7s.I'm not sure about the 3.7s yet. They have not "broken in" (whatever that means) but my initial impression is that they don't seem as "loud" as the 1.7s. I am using a W4S STI-1000 aplifier so power should not be an issue, but even with that amp I often find myself listening at 2/3 to 3/4 volume, and they don't seem to have the same presence as I am used to. Don't get me wrong - they sound great, I just want more "oomph".
Am I using the right amplifier? Is this just a factor of the 3.7s I am not used to? Any advice/commentary would be appreciated.
