Glad you made it out.

I was 17 and enlisted, passing on a scholarship. I think I did that because my dad was career military and was a bombardier in the Korean War. Unbeknownst to me (due to my parents being divorced) when I joined, he served in Vietnam also.

I meet up with him in the early 80's and he told me a few stories and said he was glad I didn't go. Never saw or talked to him again after that.

BTW, I didn't call you dumb or anyone else who went there. I was calling myself dumb but should have used ignorant instead, which fits the context I was trying to establish when I related my story. Hard to get the actual meaning across at times with the keyboard.
