and the devastation it causes over a massive amount of land. Not just power outages, or trees down, but entire neighborhoods and towns blown down, thousands upon thousands of homes made uninhabitable. Sorry, CT and FL aren't comparable in potential for devastation.

(not making light of the current situation, mind, just adding a bit of perspective; our home had the roof "removed," and we were unable to return to our home for over two weeks while the roads were cleared and repaired and the infrastructure was re-installed. After FEMA kindly supplied a thick mil temporary roof, we were limping along when another hurricane hit, this one not only removing the temp roof but bringing immense rainfall that ruined what we'd had a chance to start fixing up).
