...perhaps you could visit a hospital ICU that is currently treating patients who have allegedly tested positive for COVID-19 and though it would be of course and rightly so prohibited, walk amongst those patients (feel free to not be masked nor gloved) and see if you're able to acquire "a little more evidence of what's going on here", then report back your findings, say after 3-14 days have passed, assuming you don't first...Though perhaps you might ultimately find it to be lacking in the scientific evidence and support you're looking for, it could reasonably be suggested that at the very least such a research endeavor could provide a rich opportunity for some robust experiential learning...
I appreciate your critical thinking and intellectual inquisitiveness...
