I bought my Yamaha FJR1300 from one of those outfits. A beautiful road machine sold by guys who knew little about any of the bikes they carried — Yamaha, Suzuki, and Kawasaki — all of which comprised a small percentage of everything else they sold. My machine was complex. I needed someone working there who had competence, but such skill was intermittent. I found a good independent dude who had enough skills to own his own shop.
I'm going to save up for a Triumph. Those dealers are exclusive and specialized.
