I would get something shorter for inside the house. Whatever you choose, learn to shoot accurately. You don't want bullets flying around your house, if you have loved ones or pets nearby.

Laser sights. Lighting up someone's forehead should clear them out fast, so you don't have to mess up your carpets. If not, you have the means to put the bullet where you want it.

Consider backup weapons hidden around the house and garage, but it depends on your situation.

Outdoors or car: I have a weapon hidden away from the house, because there was a Moorish house squatter in a suburb several miles away. The homeowners were in Florida for three months and the squatters had fake title papers drawn up. It took the owners four months to evict them. I don't have the patience to evict a squatter. I would grab my weapon and stay hidden outside and pop them in the head for home invasion. Put a shank near their hand for a nice, enhanced effect.
