Good for your wife, standing up to those ripoff artists.
My Dad was hit by a car and it sent him flying into a bunch of brush. He was all scraped up, but was otherwise fine.
He specifically told the medics he did not want an ambulance ride and was just going to walk back home (about a half mile).
They insisted he get in because he could have head trauma.
After much arguing, he got in.
The exam at the hospital, which was less than a quarter of a mile away, showed no signs of head trauma.
The bill for the 2 minute ride was $4500.
Insurance covered it, but my Dad was still furious.
