We had a fair number of big, puffy cumulus clouds at the start of the eclipse, and I was hoping they wouldn't obscure things. What's strange is that when the sun started to return, there wasn't a cloud in the sky. And no, not even a slight breeze (at least not on the ground) to dissipate them. I'm sure there's an explanation for the phenomenon (temperature change?), but I haven't searched it yet.
It's about 92 ºF here, and it got noticeably cooler during the total portion. It went dead quiet, and then the tree frogs started croaking like it was 10 PM.
I wasn't expecting it to be as impressive as it was, but I was in awe. I'm sorry for those of you who had to miss it.
