For real, palpable, audio question: Do the caps in speakers die or "crap out" over time like amp caps?
A pair of my Dyna a 25s had a dead tweeter so I worked the level control and still NG. Yet, when I touched the tweeter my static charge (it was winter and dry & "staticy") "zapped" it to life!! I had to do this a couple times but they worked fine thereafter!
Now, my KEF 101s, which worked great when last used, have buzzing distortion on both woofers. I can't believe the woofers are bad- could a cap be bad in the x-over network or is the KEF Q-Stop circuitry whacked?
