Aretha, Sam Cooke, Otis Redding, Marvin Gaye, Etta James, Bobby Bland, Chuck Berry and Stevie Wonder are in my collection...probably forgot several. All of these were artists on top 40 radio stations while I was growing up.

I used to listen to the B.B. King channel on Sirius radio. The music was good but just listening to what BB had to say was great. Once while interviewing another old blues player he said he started out in R&B but somewhere along the way he lost the rhythm. I took that to mean the definition of the category changed during his career.

I consider Chuck Berry to be rock and Bobby Bland as blues.
