Altec specs were pretty honest. The 416-8B woofer models at 97dB with an F3 of 40Hz in an 11 cu ft VB with 25Hz tuning.

Spec fudging was rare back when the Valencia was produced, because back then the audio press measured what they reviewed and published the result.It's quite common today, because the audio press, such as it is, loves everything, so long as they buy advertising.
