If you are a builder, then my advice is to build a First Watt M2 clone. With chassis it will set you back about $600 to $700 but it sounds wonderful on a horn system. It comes close to my 2A3 monoblocks in the midrange area but outperforms them on the low end and is quieter. This comparison is made using a 4P1L(tube) transformer coupled linestage however.

If you are not a builder, then look for a used M2 or J2 but they are not easy to find and will cost you considerably more.
