Don't dismiss those Eminence woofs too quickly. They can perform amazingly well for the price if you give them two things. Brace the living hell out of them, those cheap stamped frames vibrate. And break them in hard, hundreds of hours at high levels with bass heavy music or test tones (20, 40, 80 hz).
Your ears (and your wallet) will be happy.
That said, if you want to spend money... go for it.
