Integrating Zapfilter and other analogue stages

I just wonder if you did any upgrade to the motor/digital parts of your players? I have just tried to add capacitance (10uF oscons) to the regulators for motor and digital stages. Especially the 5 and 3,3 volt regulators for the Digital processor/VC24 Digital Filter/DAC did had an enourmous inpact on sound. The sound of the player is completely different. It sounds ANALOGUE. Suddenly the digital feeling disappeared.

When I previously installed the Zapfilter directly after the VC24 Digital Filter/DAC this gave a better sound especially in the base. (I also changed the original(thin modrange) RCA jacks to WBT, great improvement). But the sound was still rather digital but felt more directly from the source. I then followed the instructions from LCAudios site and added a passive RC filter in-between. The result, less digital but thinner sound!

To summarize, it is my belief that the VC24 Digital Filter/DAC is not good enough to feed and external analogue stage without better power input. Just adding more fast capacitance to the present regulators made a HUGE difference in sound.

I also installed the LClock XO2 but found that it made only a small difference in sound.

Thanks to jhietbrink for great posts about this subject.
