Chesky's "Swing Live". Although the filtering was done to make room for two surround mixes, not to enable MLP.This is one of my concerns with the "everything but the kitchen sink" approach of DVD-A. No room for a DTS mix? Let's filter the high-res audio at 30kHz. Need to add a video clip? Filter at 24kHz. Hmm.. a second surround mix would be nifty, would anyone really notice if we filtered at 11kHz? As producers compete to pack more features on a disc the audio quality will suffer. In comparison, the clean mimimalist design of SACD is a benefit for those of us who care about sound quality.
It would be interesting to run a spectrum analyser on a few popular DVD-A titles to see how many really have a 48kHz bandwidth.
Dave.
