Newsflash! The CD is as dead as the floppy drive - victim of hi-res, the internet and vinyl. I converted all my CD's to FLAC files on a hard drive about 2 years ago. I have a very nice Heart CD6000 with Amperex 6922s sitting in a box in the garage along with my old CDs. I tried selling but got no bites. The last car I bought did not have a CD/DVD player.
I would not bother with a CDP but get a DAC and headphone amp. Lot's of products out there with lots of hype but Schiit Audio gets a lot of high marks for value v. price.
