Musicians listen to all sorts of source material. Someone once told me professional musicians don't need to spend exorbitant sums on source material to replicate live sound for, they are exposed to it when they perform. Musicians for the most part are more concerned with the content.

Regretfully, all too many in this forum equate cost with sound quality. I fear the ego obfuscates musical content. Recordings made before the advent of "hi-fi" has content worth hearing even if it is not of audiophile quality.
