I had just read all but this post on the thread and was fixing to make these points before I read Mike K's. Your room is the biggest "voice" in the chain, really (as I know from recently expanding mine and now working/struggling to get it refined). Your room description of large size and hard surfaces does call out for some damping to control things, IMO, and the guidance to tap a pro for this is very wise. Could probably be your best bang-for-buck.

On power, yes dedicated circuits are important. And keep an open mind on power conditioning/regeneration, as well as power cords that feed equipment. There are plenty of nay-sayers on these, and I once was one of them. I'm definitely not now, and it is because I tried them in the mix with an already pretty good system, and the improvements were quite compelling to my ears. "Try before you buy" is best for these aspects, because of system dependent interactions, IME.
