Thanks for joining the party. As you say, this is low impact for you. But even on those rare occasions when you return something, I wonder how you would feel if the seller, not wanting to take a hit on your return, keeps 3% of your money. That might seem especially unwelcome if you are returning a defective item.

When you say "significant", is that in total dollar volume? I think this is irrelevant: the policy itself is just wrong to me.

What I find a bit disturbing about this thread is that most people seem inured to yet another fee: "If Company A can screw me, Company B can, too."

PayPal knows this is not pro-customer, or this policy would have been SOP since they opened for business. No, they waited until they were near-monopoly before taking out the thumb screws.
