The thought came to me that I had never checked the fuse in my integrated amp that I bought second-hand about 10 years ago. It calls for a 2A and it has a 2A in it. Now the interesting part when I put the fuse back in and powered it up. The sound wasn't nearly as good as it was before. It took a few minutes to get clued in, then I reversed the direction of the fuse - back to beautiful music once again, and I think it might be a little better. I did not believe that fuse diiection makes a difference but there it is.
