General Asylum: The real BEST of show! by CES 2004

Bob Crump has finally done it in bringing the ultimate music system to CES. Last night, his room had a sound that can only be described as flawlessly real. This system featured 4 speakers possessed with an unique self aware intelligence and unmatched beauty with each having a completely distinctive character and perfect custom finish. It's no surround system baby, rather a more complex 4 channel array that was voiced to perfection. Here it is, BEST of Show!

Some people in Vegas would say the best of sound of the day came from the Carlos Santana show at the Paris hotel. They'd be wrong. While it was a monstrous event, it was aurally painful, but viscerally stimulating. Too bad the sound wasn't comensurate with his talent.

As for Misty River, they hail from my neck of the woods (Pacific Northwest) and I've been listening to their album Rising for ever a year now. Their flawless harmonies and compelling instrumental skills combine to deliver folk, country and bluegrass in a way that will give you goosebumps each and every time you hear it. Now, multiply that by a factor of ten and you begin to get a sense of the special treat we experienced last night. Close up, totally acoustic and absolutely mesmerzing. If you missed it, you missed out ... lovely angels making beautiful music. Corny as it may sound, I felt blessed. Many thanks to Bob for bringing them to the show. Last evening, alone, made the whole trip worthwhile.
