Ipod versus Nomad Zen; looking for the best sound quality with uncompressed files.

Lately I have been doing some travelling and I have missed my music a little bit too much. I have tried to carry around a portable CD and a selection of my discs, but it hasn´t worked too well. I tend to scratch or lose the Cds along the way. So I was thinking of buying a HD music player. I am considering both the IPOD 40 GB and the Nomad Zen 60Gb. I just want to know how are they regarding sound quality used without compresion. Have you heard them? Any ideas, recommendations?
