Concur with Ian Mackenzie's recommendation as a way to start. Either an Apple TV 3 or one of the previous generation Airport Express units with optical output is a very inexpensive, simple way to get started with decent sound quality and seamless integration with iTunes. Connect either of those to your network using the Airport Utility application and you will see it as an audio output choice in iTunes.

Connect the Apple TV or Express to your DAC with an optical cable with a Toslink plug at one end and a mini-Toslink plug at the other. Or use a standard Toslink cable with a Toslink to mini-Toslink adapter at one end. If you're concerned about jitter from either device a reclocker will reduce it, though you may not need that, at least at first, depending on your DAC and your hearing.
