Just to add another perspective here, I recently purchased the PWD/PWT.
I'm a music lover, and a reluctant audiophile who has frequented audio salons in New York, LA, Chicago, and Atlanta. In addition, some of my overpaid colleagues have invited me over to here there cost no object systems.
Like most of us, CD audio was a necessity due to the lack of LP content.
My 12 year old Theta DAC/Transport needed a repair and Theta no longer supports their older products.
For the last 11 months, I have auditioned Ayre, Meridian, Audio Research,
Marantz, and Benchmark equiptment. The audio research was the most pleasant, but at 10k, out of bounds. I contacted Mick at Quintesccence Audio, (One of the few truly honest dealers) and asked if any anxioius audiophile had traded one in. Mick knows my taste and suggested the PS audio. With the 2000 dollars trade in, and my trust in Mick, I placed the order.
The last week has been a rediscovery of my music collection. The combo doesn't sound digital or analog, simply musical. The soundstage is rock solid, drums snap at you, and violins don't bleed your ears.
The true potential of my system has come out, and it is free of tweaks.
I've got no viewpoint to push, just wanted to share my enjoyment with others.
