I have three Toshiba SD-3980 DVD players in my systems, all unmodded, and to my ears they sound great. A changer is requested by wife for an upcoming vacation house system, and considering budget as a factor I have ordered a refurbed Marantz CC4300-based largely on opinions from other inmates here.

I know more enters into the equation than just chip specs, but given that the 3980 boasts a 24 bit/192mhz d-a chip, I just wondered what the CC4300 contained as a comparative reference. Can't find it on their website. Trying to manage expectations, I guess.

Wish the 3980 had a digital input that would allow the Marantz to be run into it.
