Hi, the new May Stereophile is packed! I haven't read it all yet, there's lots of good stuff.
You should read Julie Mullins page and Jay Jay French's article, both near the back, about Lyric Hi-Fi,a high end stereo store.Great writing! After I read both pages the answer of why the company Schiit came about. It's more clear than the explanation in Jason Stoddards book. It's too bad the Lyric store could not adapt like the dinosaur but licking concrete for the testing of a sound room base doesn't sound very sound to me.The concrete workers should of gave him a good Moe Howard slap of it.
Now the Schitt Audio Vali 2 article. Like it or not Herb Reichert did more research and comparison tests that his review could be called(the second Manhattan project}. The earlier Western Electric tube article was great too.John Atkinson with tons of measurements that the Absolute Sound lacks put the icing on the cake.
There's so much more I haven't touched and read yet.I think Jim Austin has hit a homerun with this issue as it displays Hi-fi diversity.I got an Absolute Sound issue a day before and it seemed to have the Absolute Pictures or Art of typical Lyric Hi-fi gear that might impress viewers of your coffee table. As a (tool) to help you in the quest for better sound Stereophile nails it with this issue.
I won't kiss your ass anymore unless I get a free year but wanted to write your crew and say well done!.....Mark Korda
