I'll conjecture the reason is as follows: If your opinion is that a product is crap, and the reader knows that is your subjective opinion, then the reader can do with it what they will.

On the other hand, if the reviewer incorrectly uses a test measurement to "prove" the product is a piece of crap, then the reviewer is essentially claiming that it is not his opinion that the component is a piece of crap, but rather it is objectively a piece of crap.

Hence, if the reviewer is claiming that objectively it is a piece of crap, and that measurements so prove its crappiness, then you better make sure the measurements are correct.
